| Band practice
takes place in the band hut, at
the rear of the Standard Triumph Recreational Club, Tile Hill Lane, Coventry, CV4 9DG. Entrance is via Herald Avenue. See the "Location" page for a map of how to get there. Wednesday Evening 19:30 - 21:00 Wednesday evening is Chanter and Drum Pad practice for the band. Jim Tudhope, Hon Life Pipe-Major gives learner pipers individual tuition on a one to one basis on the practice chanter. Drum Sergeant Robert Brown gives learner drummers tuition on drum pads. The more experienced pipers gather as a group with Pipe-Major Gerrard McGuiness to practice any new tunes the band is learning, revise some old ones and finish with competition tunes. The drummers then sit around with the pipers and practice competition tunes for the final half hour. |
